Silber Bullydog Turbo ?'s

I am thinking about doing a turbo setup for next year and if i do its without a doubt going to be a plug and play setup like the silber bullydog.

How have these kits been running? I see there are a couple threads about bogging issues, but it doesn't seem to be a super common problem. Are guys having to have their maps changed or is it truly plug in, go, and don't mess with it for the rest of the year fuel wise?

Lag?

I ride all over the west ranging from 3-12000'. Do changes need to be made when altitude changes, or does the box do it for you? Adding av gas or whatever isn't a big deal, just don't want to have to remap every weekend.

Is Silber going to come out with a bullydog setup for the XM and Proclimb?

I have a 2013 with the new bullydog/kpa set up and i really really like it. I am one of the few who is having the bogging issue but im sure they will have a rewritten tune possibly to compensate for the few sled having the issue.. Possibly fuel pressure? Not too sure but aside from that it runs flawless. Plug and play just make sure to take your time on the install an route everything smart and neat so no chance of wires shorting out or rubbing through, boost hoses protected properly.
You will be happy for sure with the set up, if you are looking for big boost all day i would go with a water/air intercooled boost-it set up but for everyday fun at 8-9 lbs its a great system.

I will preface my response with saying that I do not own nor have I been around a silber kit with the bullydog tune. That being said I have yet to hear of a system that claims to be plug and play, and runs perfect at all elevations deliver as advertised 100% of the time. I just don't think the kit builders have the time or resources to do the programming the way it should be done across all the varied conditions. I am not at all trying to badmouth silber or the bullydog system and they seem to have tons of happy customers and a solid dealer network, but I will not again buy a system that eliminates end user tuning. I would at the very least wait until the bogging issue is resolved or go with the tried and true method of dobek, PCV, boost it, or boondocker box. While these methods of fuel control are not perfect, they are proven to work and work well with very little adjustment by the end user. I would much rather have to do a little button pushing occasionally than, at best tote my laptop around while I ride or at worst be waiting for the kit builder to come up with an updated map.

Every time I ride my sled I wish I would've bought a boondocker. The bullydog actually made my sled run worse. And apparently Justin is the only person that can make any changes. Definitely not happy!!

I am sure the fix is in the works. He was out west and now on his way home so im sure he wouldn't have left without having the issue solved.

I have a 2013 Silber BD system on a 2014 pro. I have run from 2,000 ft to over 10,000 ft, from Ca to Wa to Id to Wy with out having to have anything ajusted, except weight and or boost. I run 8# boost, and a 3" track, after changing a few clutch items and gearing I can say it runs 99 percent perfect. Very happy with the drive ability you can side hill at 2 or 3# boost all day, in or out of the trees, then turn it up and boost it on up with the flip of your throttle. Very nice and extremely fun.

Do a Boodocker and forget it.... Every sled is different so why would they all be tuned the same? With Boondocker you can dial YOUR sled in on the snow... If your not a tuner like me and you want your sled dialed in the best possible take it to someone like VOHK and have it done right.

Speaking from experience with many different sleds and many different turbos in our group

After a week of testing we came up with a map that fixed the sleds we had with us but when fielding them on a larger test group Saturday it fixed one or two but made the others worse. Justin is digging int the root cause of the problem and will determine the best way to correct it. We can send out an update that could make sleds run worse. We are looking into to all options At this point and hope to have something finalized shortly.

I know there Are folks out there who are at their wits end and I am there with you. We spent 7 days of tuning and had something that worked great and that all went south yesterday when we had a larger group try it. Justin is back home now and will get something figured out for us. I am also going to try and fine the commonality of the ones that run and figure out what's different in the ones that don't. At this point that is the best I can do.

Im right there with ya man, I cant believe the way the Boondocker kits are running out of Vohks shop. I ride with a couple of them out here any they all have been rippping.

Ive seen a couple M's run out of Vohk's shop too. Top notch sleds, you guys are doing a good job of pushing me that way.

I see you live in SD as well, we have a lot invested just to go out west riding... Time, money, and only so many chances to have it running right. I've been down that rode before and got so frustrated it put a bad taste in my mouth about snowmobiling all together. Do yourself a BIG favor and take the drive or call VOHK you won't regret it. Once Erik dials your sled in on the snow you'll never touch it again no matter where you go. It will adjust for elevation and everything else.

I am not trying to push anything or sell anything its your choice, just trying to help a fellow sledder out.

I would choose the BoonDocker route but, I'm a little partial. :) They run great...enough said.

Boondocker has treated me well. If bullydog was end user tunable I would go with that but it's not and I refuse to have my tuning done by someone other than me. And with all the issues of bogging and run ability. Bullydog is steering down the right road but many maps available from the factory are not decoded and much more r&d needs to be done. Maybe in a few years if they open tuning to end users and open more tuning maps it will be a better option.
