Sidekick issue?

This is my first turbo so bear with me. Just installed a sidekick on my axys. It was fired up once for 5 minutes in the shop. Seems to be leaking a bit of oil out of the exhaust housing. I'm after cleaning this up twice over the course of a week. Also are these coolant lines ok being this close? Seems too close to me.

This is normal I installed my turbo last year and mine did the same thing just ride it will be ok. I put 700 flawless miles on last year

You should not be leaking oil like that.
Check your oil lines and make sure they are connected well. Check the oil line and make sure there isn’t a cut or hole or anything. Try and verify exactly where the oil is coming from. I have not seen one boondocker kit out of mine and about 8 friends with oil sitting in the bay like that..

It's definitely leaking by inside the compressor housing.

Got word from Boondocker that it's normal and should go away after a ride or two. Comes from overfilling the oil line

because the oil feed line is a one line in it has to have some way of releasing pressure and too much oil so oil will leak past the seals otherwise you would be deadheading the bearing for the turbo, mine sled leaked like that for two or three rides and now it is good to go

This would not have anything to with the reflash.

Sounds like there's some changes in the ecu for '18 and was causing some det issues. They're reflashing all '18 sidekicks

Unfortunately s*** happens. This was completely out of boondockers control. They're getting the issue fixed fast as possible

So you have issues right away, but then continue running it “all day”? Why? That’s a good way to break stuff that could potentially be avoided.

The reflash will be a new fuel map to run a bit richer as too many of the 18s were leaning out and causing DET.

After the initial det it cleared up. We continued up the road and had a fire and some food, on the way down it started running like poop and I was headed backing to the truck. I would never neglect a problem and try to arm my brand new sled.

Did you try changing plugs? Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the turbo. I took out some of our new 18's over the weekend including one with a SideKick. The sled with the SideKick fouled one plug and one of the 100% stock sleds fouled both plugs. Worth a try.

Hope you figured it out I know there has been a few people having issues with the fuel pump tests out fine bet looses pressure after running it
