side panel question

I am buying a new right hand side panel since mine is cracked all over. It doesn't come with foam do i need the foam? i noticed there is a little tin shield on it. Im not paying 150 extra for foam kit.

You dont need the foam. We always remove the foam on our new sleds. The foam will hold water. Just use some aluminum heat tape and tape the side panel.

I put heat tape on the inside of my right panel, and a few extra layers where the tin piece is. I believe the tin is to keep the can from melting through the side panel in case you lay it over on that side... You'll be fine w/o the foam and tin. Just do something to insulate your panel from the can in case of a roll over.

X3 I pull the foam on all my sled. But definitely do something to insulate right there by the can. My sled last year burnt a small hole through the panel right there when it was on its side.
