Sick of the quarter turn things!

Well.. I havent even ridden my pro yet, and I already CANNOT stand the little quarter turn latches. They need to go. So who has scrapped them and what are you using? I just wanna do the rubber latches, anyone try this? Pics are nice!

I don't mind them much. You just need to make sure to ensure that they are straight and apply plenty of inward pressure and they work fine.

Mine froze closed one day and I couldnt get at my cooker or my toasty gloves. I wanted to freak out.

once you get a system down they work really well, make sure the tabs in the back are in correctly, tighten the rear one, click the front in tighten that zeus fastener and then do the rubber bungee

I agree that they work well when you get used to them. I did buy extra female ends to carry with because I lost one on a trip and snow will get into the panel when you are in the deep.

Yeah Doo seems to have the grommets and straps down right, how often do you see a Doo hood fly off on a landing? Yaaaa they got it so much better.

I don't mind these panels at all since I'm coming off a Doo. I just always forget to do up the one rubber strap on each panel every time.

Well it doesnt appear that anyone has tried anything.. although I do remember seeing a Pro with rubber straps on here. But I'll figure something out and let everyone know how it works!!

Yea now I have to carry male ends female ends that BS little jesus round washer ,,Just like My dragon I had to carry a new ECU and A voltage regulator in my Pack ,,,,,,WTF???

I don't understand all the issues with Dzus fasteners. I find them quick, easy, and secure. I added them to the side panels on my 900 and never had a panel pop off again. I like having them on my Pro. If you don't, put some ugly-azz straps on your machine. The manufacturers will never please everyone.

Someone posted a picture on here a while ago, who replaced the fasteners with rubber straps. It looked okay. Being a car racer myself, I like the quick turn fasteners. However, being in snow, cold weather, wearing thicker gloves, I do find the fasteners a pain.

I do think if they worked better for me I would definitely keep them, cuz they are clean looking. But 2 of mine are just a PITA. And I already had to replace one of the washers. I think the rubber straps look just fine, and are much more functional.. shoot they've been on sleds for what 35-40 years? They just work. Simplicity is what I'm shooting for.
