Sicamous vs. Revy

I'm planning a few trips to BC for some sledding this year and was curious about conditions at both.

I've heard that there are soooo many people at Revy, as well as theft issues, and that Sicamous is better, riding anyway.......is this true?

I'm looking for areas where we can get into the untracked backcountry and experience some of the Killer BC POW

Any input on any aspect of both areas will be great

Thx

We tried to go to Sicamous last year. Just something to think about if anyone in your group has had trouble with the law(DUII or any felony) it might be tough to get across the border. Our group got turned around at the border....so I didn't get the chance to form my own opinion.

its not that there is too many people now, 5 years ago there was, now its the ski hill. The hotels are typically full with skiers now, or that is what i saw. Theft is only a problem if your an idiot, dont lock your sled, leave full jerry cans on the back, dont lock your trailor, leave your super clamps un-locked, etc etc.

As for riding , all people know is boulder and frisby. So in this respect if thats all you know, sicamous is better.

Their only 45 minutes appart . Ride both ! Revy is waaaayyyyyyy more fun and has much better food though .

Look up the Revelstoke snowmobile club and have a peek at their website. They list the common areas as well as some less common and convenient zones. Half the reason everyone goes to Boulder is because they are too lazy to drive someplace else; I've even driven past the boulder lot and seen it packed only to find 5 trucks at frisbee a couple miles up the road! Lazy! It's worth your time to get further from town in the less-tracked zones. Talk to some locals or regulars and get some directions. Buy a map.

boulder is thee only place to ride. stay outta the tree's though. thats where the bears are hibernating, you dont want to wake them up.

They are in for a rude awakening then.......that's exactly where I like to play the most.:face-icon-small-ton

2'-3' of POW + nicely spaced trees and forest = Heaven!!

yes i agree, stay well clear of the burn, snow is way too deep and way too much fun.

Don't go there... It sucks..
.The trees are too far apart and the snows too deep

Yeah, sounds like some pretty lame riding conditions, I'll be sure NOT to go there! :face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-coo

Great info from everyone, keep it coming and thanks to all in advance.

When we are heading up, I'll have to post up here....maybe get a chance to hook up with a couple of you guys.

Both have some unreal sledding terrain. Revy has it all though, you wanna tree ride in some deep pow hit Frisby for a day, you wanna go on a tour where very few people get to head up to Keystone and get across the hogs back into some unbelievable rolling hills and awesome views (or be a man and go over the top ; )). If you wanna test your tolerance for the taste of your nuts in your throat head to boulder and hit the 90 or McLaren's Mile. "Ya they don't look that bad on video, I get it", lol, heard that many times. Lot's of guys ride Boulder because the pulls in there are the measuring stick in our sport for guys that wanna push their sleds to the limit and see if they can be one of a handful of people to have ever climbed something so menacing.
