Shovel

Time for a new shovel and just wondering it anyone ran into one they fell in love with. I would like one with a extendable handle and a saw. Don't want a huge blade so it fits easy in my pack. Any info would be great. Thanks

The Black Diamond Deploy 7 is my favorite new shovel, the handle slides into the blade taking up minimal space and staying in one piece, super strong, wish it had the built in saw but otherwise its likely the last shovel I will buy!

x2 on the black diamond. I have that one on my tunnel. I also carry a plastic wps with a saw in my pack. the black diamond is a much better shovel

Ive got the Voile collapsible.. No saw in the handle though, but i carry a 8" folding saw in my back.

I just picked up a Voile Tele-pro. I thought at $40 bucks the saying "you get what you pay for" would ring true so I put it to the ol' Revy roof shoveling test. We literally shoveled tons of DENSE elephant snot starting to re-freeze for around four hours. This shovel is burly! No signs of fatigue at all. It extends to a nice, long 100cm (40"), has a nice sized blade that moves snow fast but doesn't wear you out, and the 'D' handle is the only way to go. Definitely a good buy.

Check out the HMK multi-shovel. Metal blade, extendable handle, built in saw, compass and an ice pick built into the handle for those frozen running boards.
