Should we ride when we drink ??????

Last week I was at the drag races. in Mont Valin..Quebec.. .and to my dis belief..as a sledder..there was alot of drinking going on.no not just a beer..guys were drunk..why do it and then ride when kids are with their parrents on THE TRAILS TOO...no not drinking right in front ..like sitting on a case while watching..but even my son saw people pretty buzzed..heck we saw a guy fall in his piss while doing it..lol..there was a couple of partys near us at night where the guys were outside yelling ..finally the cops came and that was all..but why are they yelling like that..dont we have enough bad stuff said about us....there was a ton of sledders there.but the 10 or so percent made us look really bad..ya you can party but yelling outside and then rippen around on sleds down the street at 10 and 11 and 12 at night is not good for us.all together 6-8 sleds..too bad the cops couldnt fallow them..sure ride at night..come home..but not that way..where i stay there is alot of homes where people live and only ski and snowshoe..so to them we looked pretty bad..no i didnt say dont party..but how old are you again..have respect for those who have kids..or the people who dont party..here is a pic of a trail JTC..this was at 11-30 am in the mornning..and they were not there when we went there at 9-00 am..when you read the stuff from snowest..about who sledders are..they say we are not beer drinking rednecks who just beat our high hps machines...and make noise and cause trouble..like yelling in the streets at night...they should have been where i was...i am sorry if i have made some enemies ..but this was something i felt should be said..the cops did get some people for D U I ..saw them when one of the 10 cops checked papers for the sleds.and trail pass..but not nearly as many as should have been.hard to smell beer with a 2-smoke..lol...its just too bad that these people made us look so bad this weekend..cause the races were great..some nice sleds out there..well worth seeing..but just get off the trails before its over..a mountain came around a cornner and the trail was 20 yards wide..me on my side..one ski just about off the trail on my side..and he just missed me..he ran on one ski and slide side ways..when he passed my son..my son looked back to be sure the guy didnt go off the trail..this happened to me 3 times..and the guys were all raceing.one of those times 3 sleds in a group were on my side..guess theywere too busy raceing to think of anyone else...this never happen to me there ever before..first time at the drags..humm..drags...beer..attitude...wonder if there is a connection..why dont these guys leave the attitude at home..i ride these trails with my son and wife..and manny other people ride with their familys..if one of you guys ever hits my sled on my side of the trail..i plan to beat you with my helmet...and then tell the judge i lost it and i am sorry..get off free..thats what my sister RCMP and brotherinlaw RCMP told me..never did anything..well got caught..lol.. its too bad that these people just think of them selves..cause its them that are making the majority of us look bad...just my 2 cents...but i am still going next week...lol..but never when there are drags..unless by truck...

Honestly, out west I see very little drinking on the mountain now. Packin beer used to be the norm 10 years back... Everyone is very good at gettin there buzz on after riding but I can really say that 90 percent of the peeps I know dont pack beer and if they do it only a couple. ABS bags dont have much room for packin beer so ask your self if you wanna be buzzed or alive!!

Yeah when I started riding i drank a little too much when i rode, but that got way too damn expensive and not to mention stupid. Now i just wait until I get done riding to drink a few.I have no problem though with only having a couple of beers on the mountain lots of my friends do I just choose not ot anymore.I tend to have more fun and make better decisions when sober.:face-icon-small-coo

A beer on the trail [what ever] but most of my trips are 95% over niters in are clubs cabin; so thats were all the drinking and some of the biggest climbs? are done LOL

It all depends how you define drinking. I've rode with hundreds, maybe thousands of different people in the last 25 years. I've been drinking a beer per ride for roughly 50 rides/year for the last 25 years. I'd be willing to say that about 95% of those I've ridden with have done the same. I ride in the greatest country in the FREE world, if I'm going to be persecuted for drinking a beer, all I can say is WTF!!.

I think if a guy has a beer or drink when hes riding and then gets in an accident it always gets chalked up to alcohol even if the person only had 1 drink....It doesnt matter the liquor gets blamed for the cause of the accident. not operator error? my 2 cents is that i wouldnt want any doubt that it was all my fault and liquor had nothing to do with it. If you look on the wisconsin dnr website it tells you if alcohol was involved and what the bac was at the time of the accident.

I don't know about anone else but my sled is hard enough to hold on to sober much less after been drinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alive to get buzzed

me and a buddy had to drink 2 beers each to patch his exh pipe after the operator valve malfunctioned and propelled the sled head on into a tree.

Ill have a beer on the hill with my lunch or after some hard pulling. No harm in that not getting wasted here just a beer. But i got to say i really get a kick out of some of you guys that will come on here and this is not the only thread about "drinking on the hill" and say your dead against it.ect ect.. But yet you will drink down in the parking lot not one but several beer get in your truck and trailer and drive home or to your hotel??Give me a break. But i will honestly say, i will have a beer or two through out the day and i really enjoy drinking one on the mountain.Just dont over do it and be a idiot. cheers!

I drink beer too..but like everyone says..1-2..or even a few over a day is no big deal..but there were guys pissed on the trail..the cops saw that..its not the beer..its the attitude,,just dont do it on your sled..and think of others.here in quebec there are deaths from drinking on sleds every year..trees are usually the innocent victum.but its only a matter of time before its 2 sleds.because of the trails its easy to bring your family out..on the sled or in the back being pulled..ride hard .ride fast.but ride safe.someone loves even you..lol..
