Is there any interference with avalanche beacons? I know GPS/Cell phones will affect them....

They are very far apart in radio frequency so not likely. The tag also only puts out a fraction of the power of what a cell phone could.

Additionally the tag does not transmit continually but in short pulses so this reduces even more the likelyhood of blocking the long low frequency pulse of a beacon. Things such as power lines and ignition systems are a more likely a source of problems.

I hated the fact that my Pro didn't have a tether, didn't want to ride without one. BUT, tethers are a pain in the azz. I bought a Teth-Air, had my dealer install it and I LOVE IT! Just a complete nobrainer super cool why didn't I think of that cant live without it life saving device. The antenna can be trimmed to get the right range so you can kill it by snuffing it into your coat or something. Definitely leave the antenna long and trim it back just enough that the sled will run while you walk completely around the sled but short enough that you can snuff it out easily too. The wrist strap could be improved, I ty wrapped the ends so it wouldn't come loose and always wore it up my sleave, not outside my coat so if it fell off it would get caught inside my sleeve. Never did. I also never had it kill the sled when I didn't want it to. I meant to write a super posititve review but just hadn't gotten to it. BUY ONE, YOU WILL LOVE IT! Especially if you are an active mountain rider that moves around a lot on the sled, no tether to snag on the bars or tree branches or anything for that matter. I paid a lot more than $150 for them too.

Is there a bypass mode or switch in case the signal fails? What about if you like to warm your sled up and them go into your trailer to dress.

There is a bypass on the transmitter. I believe it resets every time.
I don't have one but I think I might get me and my bro one for christmas, his sled took off full throttle and hit a tree last year... it scared the **** out of us. Always scared to start his sled now.

Yes you can by-pass if you lose the transmitter tag. It is a simple procedure that can be done on engine start-up. We usually hang our tags on the handlebar for warm-up or set it close by so the sled will run but if someone jumps on it to steal it, they will only get a short distance away.

I know you are looking for un-biased feedback and I am biased. If you realize that a tether is worthwhile but can't stand wearing a cord, this may be for you. It does not shut the sled off as quickly or as short as a cord does but it does also add the benifit of security. It also works automatically, you don't need to think about "hooking up" and "un-hooking" every time you get on and off the sled.

And a few more.

We have always said the best place to wear the transmitter tag is on your right wrist but last year we also tested and approved wearing it on right your forearm. This has worked quite well as its less likely to slide off your arm when digging in the snow. Of course that doesn't happen to me because I never get stuck.

We will have it for September and October.

Okay, we have re-evaluated the details of the pricing. Here is our best deal.
For 3 or more units will be, $199 for first system and I will do second and third or more for $100 each. As long as it is the same shipment and invoice.
