Should Tek Vest be worn over or under Jacket?

I doubt there is a right or a wrong way but......................

I have worn my TekVest under my coat for years (it makes me look like Arnold :rolleyes:) yet now I see in many of the snowmobile magazines that they are being worn over the snowmobile jacket.

I guess it's kind of like women's lingerie and bra straps? They were worn under women's clothes for years and now some of the hotties (and not so hotties) wear them proudly as outer garments. Maybe it's just progress? :face-icon-small-hap :beer;

What are the benefits of wearing a Tek Vest either way?

What's your preference? Maybe wearing your Tek Vest over your and lingerie? :eek:

Worn on the outside of your gear, you will be ALOT cooler than wearing it under!

Depends on you!

I think when people wear them on the outside they look like goobers. Unless its spring/warm temps and your not wearing a jacket. Otherwise I always wear mine under my jacket.

I would think you want it as close to your carcass as possible....wearing it over a loose fitting jacket allows it to to twist on your body, especially if you are getting run over by your sled, whacking a tree etc.....allowing the protection to be less protective ???? Just a overly analytical thought :beer;;)

I wear it between jersey and jacket.

So I guess when I don't wear a jacket, it's on the outside.

Can't imagine it'd be comfortable over a jacket.

I wear mine as a middle layer. I wear a thing wicking layer, then the vest above that. Finally I wear my outer layer on top. I think it is important to keep everything from getting wet. I would assume the vest would hold some moisture. The vest actually keeps you pretty warm too. For spring conditions, I will wear the vest on the outside, as I normally don't wear a waterproof outer layer.

This setup seems to work for me.
