Shot my first round of trap with my 12 yr old son!

My 12 year old son started shooting for his FIRST time 3 weeks ago off a home thrower..missed first 40 targets, just couldnt find his spot. A friend of mine and fellow shooter kept coaching him a bit till he finally hit a few in a row and could find his targets. Well he shot 2 times at home and today he had his very first round of 50 at the club house. I must say I was worried that he would feel embarrast if missing but he held it together. As a proud dad I will say he hit a respectful 17/25 from 16's and 16/25 from the 20's. Made me smile and proud at same time! I guess i better stock up on re-loads because he is hooked

My dad got me into trap shooting a few years ago, shot winter league for three years in a row, was a LOT of fun! Good for him! It's amazing how fast you can learn, the first night I shot a 32/50, and by the fourth week I was seeing scores in the fourties! Can be frustrating at first, but you get the hang of it pretty quick!

More fathers NEED to take their son's out shooting and get them involved in shooting sports in the summer and sledding in the winter!

Just got my 15 year old son shooting clay birds last month, now when he comes to my house he wants to go shoot.I'm glad he started to take a interest in it. Good luck with your ammo supply, mine is getting smaller.

I took my son shooting sporting clays for his 17th. birthday a few weeks ago. It was a first for both of us. We had a great time! We both stunk up the place, but had fun. He's been shooting rifles since he was 5, but this was a whole other experience.
Way to go Himark.You can't spend too much time with the kids.

I betcha he woulda beat me! That's awesome... We just started the little one off a few weeks ago with the 10/22... the LOP is like 4 inches too long for her! lol She is going to be 6 soon and I think we have a lifer!

These are the kind of stories I like to hear.
