Shortest enclosed trailer for 3 long tracks

I am new to the enclosed trailer market and would like to know the shortest enclosed trailer, not including v-nose, that can fit 3 163" sleds. My tow vehicle is a 4x4 diesel RV.

we have a 20' not counting the V and they fit easily, could probably fit 4 if you got creative. If its a full width over the axle sled trailer, i think my buddy has a 3 place thats only 13' without the V but you have to go one up into the nose and two backed in on either side of it.

I have a 8Wx12L + 4' vee and 2 longs (153&162) and a trail sled fit with no ski removal. 2 long tacks in backwards and the shorty facing front and center.
I tired cramming 3 long tracks in it and even removing the skis on the front sled to get it farther into the trailer nose was a no-go by a little bit.
I'd say you need minimum 14'L + vee nose. 16' would work for sure.

My trailer measures 16' from the back to the start of the V. I can put long tracks in backwards but sled #3 WILL have the *** end in the V. My guess for for 3 163s you need 20' of box not counting the V.

Maybe.

I know that a 24' is EASY to get 3 163s in it. You don't even have to put the middle on in backwards to accomplish that.

14sq +5v = 19' gives you about 1 ft to spare with them packed in pretty tight all 3 pointing backwards.

I commonly put 2 166s and a 155 but can put any sled in any position in my 19' as long as all 3 face the rear. With a 166 in the middle I have about 1 ft spare, with the 155 (as pictured) I have about 2 ft spare... and I could cram them a little closer together if I really wanted to, but there's no need.

I tow a 18' Charmac all the time. Its a 12' square deck plus a 6' Vee.

It fits 3 quite easily(153s and 162s). You put two in backwards and one in forward.

I have never tried to put all 3 in backwards though. That might work. I will have to check next time I load up.

So I would say 18' trailer is a bare minimum. 19' will work. And 20' is ideal.

I can fit four in a 20' square plus the Vee as long as you put one in backwards.

Also, it way nicer to tow an 18-20'3 place trailer then a 27-29' 4 place. So much easier to turn around in the parking lots.

How do you get 1 in forward and 2 backward in a 12sq? I take it there is some reversing involved?

I also agree on the size preference... much easier to turn/park a 20ft trailer than a larger one in tight areas, and the 'anchor' factor increases with the trailer size too... My 3 place is approx. 5,000 lbs fully loaded and you can feel it when the access road into the snow park gets hairy!

Yep

I can ride a sled in reverse pretty good! You just need momentum!

Drive one in from the front door
Drive one in from the back and put in the center
Back one up the rear door

Thats what she said anyways:)

Interesting... :beer;

The nice thing about putting them all in facing rear is you can ride all 3 in normally (which we normally do)... the bad thing is that if you only want to have 2 in then you definitely want to have them pointing forward so that you get enough tongue weight... I once pulled it with 2 in pointing rearward and it wasn't confidence inspiring, lol.

Dido on the 20 footer. I have a 16 square box with a 4 foot v and I can haul 3 163 faceing the rear with a little room to spare. Much nicer to tow and turn around in crowded parking lots. Less storage room in off season as well.

Update

3 do fit it in with them all in backwards (drove them all in the front door).

12' square and 6' Vee.

Also, the Charmac is very well made trailer. I like it a lot.
