Shortening stock axys boards

I know many have done this before, if you have post back with pictures.

How did you heat the board to separate the end of the boards? Don’t think my propane torch would be hot enough?

Propane will work, just takes a while

Its not too bad with propane. focus all the heat in one spot. causes it to expand and peak away faster.

What is the reason for this mod?

Less drag in deep snow and when the sled is on edge. My tunnel is already shorten -4.5”. Shortening the boards or buying skinz shortys next.
