Me and the wife need to get away for awhile, looking for a 4 day cheap vacation just to get away from the daily grind. Anyone have any ideas? I can’t think of many places in the US to visit right now that have decent weather and fun things to do. Kinda thought about Vegas but looking for something a little more laid back. Possibly DC? Any good places in Florida to visit this time of year? I would look at Mexico but with all the drug violence the wife is worried something will happen so she will be stressed the whole time, which defeats the whole purpose of a vacation. Any ideas?

I see you're from SF, SD. Jump on a cheap Allegiant flight to CA, FL, AZ or NV. As far as Vegas, rent a car and drive to Laughlin or Mesquite. Not quite the rat-race.

You can pick up some pretty cheap deals on cruises right now.
Take her sledding! Fly to Canada, Kelowna B.C., rent a car, drive a hour North, Stay at a nice B&B or hotel, rent a couple of sleds for two days, and have a blast! Your dollar is at 1.26 to Canadian today. Just a suggestion.

Would love to do the sledding thing, but my knee is shot and it will be May before I'm riding anything. I think we are looking at Florida, some some scuba diving and lounging on the beach.
Check out Destin, FLA...You can fly into P-cola, rent a car, and its an hour away....Sarasota- out on Siesta Key is really nice too- lots of cheap little Mom & Pop places on the beach. if you go to FLA in general the Gulf Coast side is nicer IMO.
