Looking to replace my RideFX front shocks on a 06 RMK 700.
Can anyone send me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

your shocks

As far as i am concerned, ryde fx shocks are excellent. I have the ones off of a 04 pro x. they have clickers for adjustability of rebound, the parts for rebuilding are readily available and they never fade from the whoops on trails. They also have titanium dual rate coils on them. If you can find these shocks for sale on the swapmeet, buy them. I ride without my swaybar, and did on my 900 as well. These are the only shocks i believe can do this well on the trail without diving in the corners.

Mine is diving in the corners real bad, parts of it is I'm new to the IQ Chassis, I'm sure. But there are 3K miles on these shocks, Im sure replacement with help the ride regardless
What does removing the swaybar do? I ride mostly sidehilling, boondocking in the trees and bowls.

Need shocks?

If you are willing to spend some money and get some excellent quality, well built shocks, you cannot go wrong with the Zbroz Exit shocks. They will far outlast any Fox Float or Fox Float 2 shocks. They may not be the lightest, but they are individually built for your rider weight and riding style unlike the ordinary out of the box Fox, WE or Ryde Effects shocks. With these shocks you can eliminate the sway bar if you want to reduce weight and these shocks with the triple spring settup will replace the sway bar and will be as stable as your sway bar is.

When looking or ordering, what do I need to know besides what sled they are going on?
Overall length from eye to eye? Extended / compressed?

From bolt to bolt I have 15.5" now while sitting static in the trailer

you need to know uncompressed length eye center to center sled model and year and your weight and riding style. If you want to shop the z bros and when you crap your pants at the price maybe you might just want to have your shocks serviced and maybe revalved for your weight and buy a new multi rate spring set up for less than half the cost of new shocks. IMHO

Looks like I'm going to go with:

Fox Float 2's
Holz Spindle
Holz 41" Arms

Powder Pros or SlyDog Powder Hounds - Haven't decided yet.

W/E airs even at $100 its a waste of money!!!!!!!:DRemember you get what you pay for. There is a reason you only paid $100. Sorry but sometimes the truth sucks.

Really??? W/E are a good light weight shock for a mountain sled. Sure, there are better replacements, but they are pricey and not everyone can afford to replace perfectly good stock W/E's with Fox Evol's, Z-Broz, etc. Shopping around and getting the most for your money is a valid concern.

golly, for $100, I'd buy them to have as spares!

I ran out of budget this year, so I'm going to give them an honest try. I have a buddy with a D8 with different shocks, so I should be able to talk him into a comparison ride. :D

I replaced my stock Ryde FX shocks last winter (after 3500 miles - no complaints really just wore out and can't rebuild) with a new set of WE's that I got a great deal on. Mixed reaction - front shocks were great but the track shocks didn't perform as expected they will be replaced by new Fox Floats this year.

The front nose diving will be greatly improved with aftermarket skis - the stock sidehiller really do suck

i think your gunna find the stock skis arent the problem. i thought the same thing on mine. i have had the WE revalved, recharged re-everything you can think of, even had the updated piston put in them and bottom line is dont waste time or money on these things if you expect any kind of peformance out of these things. i honestly think i would rather ride with the stock coil over springs from my wifes 08 600 than ride another mile on the marshamellos again. i went with fox float 2s and i cant believe the diff. it has made:D!!!!! it was well worth the $625!!!!!!!

Not to jump in on your thread but I have lots of shocks for sale
I have 17" Walkers to 18" Floats or 17" Evol X's
I have about whatever you feel like spending. Some have been used in hillclimb racing and some are brand new take offs
Thanks
