Shocks, skid, and battery?

Hey Y'all! I'm new to the forum and Ski-Doo for that matter and have a few questions for all the experts out there. I bought a 05 MZX 600 sdi with the X-Package this weekend and am ready to get things rolling for winter. I know it's only October and I have about 2 1/2 months until we have enough snow to ride, but I figured I would get things started so I'm not rushed to get things done. I also know that this is a trail sled, but I'm planning on long tracking and getting things set up nicely this year. Then next year, do the rebuild on the engine (if needed), and probably wrap it.

1. I'll start easy. What is the ctc of the both rear shocks of my SC4 121" skid? I did a search, and didn't find a difinitive answer. Also, what is the ctc of both rear shocks of a 07 Summit 151" skid? That is what I am using to long track the sled.

2. What is the mounting distance for a 07 Summit 151" skid? I know I will probably have to use drop bracket to mount the skid, but that is fine with me. I'm hoping to reuse most of the hardware from the 121" skid, but need to know what I would need to get.

3. Now, the hardest question. The sled starts on 2nd or 3rd pull and warms up nicely. However, the battery light on the dash flashes and there is a beep about every 2 seconds or so, when the sled revs above about 1800 rpm. Below that, there is no flashing battery light and no beeping. A buddy of mine has the same sled, and he said to clean the DESS cord, and I did that but no change. Is it just a battery (hoping)?

Thanks for all the insights.

Hello and welcome,

I`m not sure the ctc on the 121 skid or the rear shocks, but if you were to change to a 151 skid or rails, you could possibly use the rear arm assembly from your 121 and mount it back farther to get the 151 length and the ctc from front arm to rear would be 32inchs on a Summit,

I have a VanAmburg Enterprises stock appearing 151 rear tunnel extension and rear bumper if you are interested, it is for a 151 rear cooler.

you will most likely need a longer rear cooler also not sure if the 121 cooler will be adequate or back far enough for the longer track to toss snow on and keep the engine cool, the farther back or longer the cooler the better it works. a 144 rear cooler would be enought you would just have to make a filler panel to fill in the gap from the length difference from the 144-151 coolers could possibly do the same if you decide to just run the 121 cooler make a filler panel also.

Hope this helps ya, let me know if you would be interested in the extension and bumper.

yes you would need a drop bracket, not sure what the drop bracket is on a 121 sled but if its anything like the summit you could move it back.
