shock swap edge to RAW

Hey-

Trying to rob the rear skid shocks off of an 04 snowcheck Edge and throw them on an 07 Raw. Rear shock swapped with ease. Front skid shock is being a pain. Anybody know if it is possible??

Anybody have an tricks to get the washer in between the rail and the post on the lower end of the front shock?? Any tips on how to compress the shock so that it can be mounted??

Are you trying to install with the skid in the sled? I'm sure it can be done (with serious enginuity) but it's a lot easier to pull the skid. It takes under five minutes to pull a skid. Way easier then rigging things up in the chassis.

The inner shaft washers ....lightly grease and place them approx over the hole..grease should hold it in position....start the bolt rod through...patience and some wiggling. Release limiter straps so that you can install the shock. Push down to compress the shock and re-attach the straps..

Make sure the suspension is all cambered up prior to install back to the sled. It can fall at the base of the front arm and be below the working angle.

I did it this year with the skid mounted and it's not fun. Best is to release spring tension as far as you can then then use a spring compressor. Otherwise, it just a big fight...

Remove the bolts from the front crossbar that holds the limiter straps, this way you can extend the front arm more from the rails. This will also allow more room to install the washers, etc.

I am gonna try and get it done with the skid in place. I will fight it for a while. If it wont go then i will pull the skid.

Would you mount the front shock upper mount in the up or down position??
