shimming needles

hey guys i was wondering if instead of shimming the needles .020 in the stock middle position would i be alot different to move the clip 1 notch and take out the stock white washer? the stock shim and a .020 is .050 as i have understood. does anyone know what the measurement is for a full clip?

I think the stock plastic shim is .030 and the spacing betwen clip positions on the needle are .040. Not 100% sure but pretty close. So if you remove the shim and move the clip down one position you will raise the needle approx .010 thou.

Hopefully someone else will chime in cause like I stated I am not 100% sure.

Leave the plastic one in there. It helps insulate the needle C-clip seat from vibration and wear.

Each clip is 0.040".
