sherring keys on s/c pullies??

First key I filed down to short and it spun inside the taper lock.second time I made everthing perfect and still sherred key off inside the taperlock.Maybe belt tension to loose or to tight???MPI says they have never heard of that problem,don't think i believe that one.Anyone ever had that problem and how do you fix it??I'm sick of fixing the pullies and belt after ever trip out.There must be a better way!!!!Any help would be great.Thanks

set screws

just stop often at first and make sure set screws are tight. I went through the same thing and tight set screw were the answer.

Ya i'll do that, Usually I get riding and haven't checked the set screws just look and make sure it's not coming off.I'll retighten it often from now on.What about belt tension as I don't have a tool to measure this buy.Real tight I heard works the best?????
