Shady business practices at PowerSport Rentals

I posted this here:http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1348992&posted=1#post1348992
But figured it was relevant to the washington area as well.

They are really abusing the credit card system, taking advantage of customers for normal damage, or not taking responsibility for faulty equipment. It's likely cheaper to buy then rent from these guys.

  • Charges, not holds, $800 additional damage. If real damage did occurs, he won't refund the balance at return, but rather keep the charges 'till he gets to fixing it. It's been over 3 weeks, and they've charged us $2400 that's still sitting on our cards.
  • Will charge full replacement and labor for a scratched handle, that's only visible if the sled is upside down.
  • Charges 3% additional credit card fee for phone orders.
  • $44/ gal for oil, which is not included in the rental. BTW, they'll tell you that's a deal because they buy it in 55 gal barrels.
  • Super nice at sale. Will even give you a bottle of water for your trouble. But completely ignores you at return, making you wait (no water). Won't tell you the charges, and won't return a call to tell you the fee, or refund the deposit.

These guys are just real crooks, ruining what could be a great experience. There are plenty of good rental places around.

We've rented from Cascade, and they are great. We had rented a cabin near Crystal. Should have gone with Action or eTicket. Both had great recommendations. But, we decided to go for the "reputable" company because they had a 3 place trailer and seemed professional - fooey.
