Several Avy's @ Baker today

All the new snow of the last few days on top of last weeks frozen layer made for a few fairly large slides today.

We later heard that Retodd triggered one while climbing. You could see his tracks going out the top, and then he had to drop off the crown coming down.

2-3 ft crown and 1/4 mile wide. Debris pile was pretty scary. THis was "drag race hill" a little east of Big House.

BE CAREFULL OUT THERE!!

A sled-triggered avy from Friday.

This one was triggered by a side-hiller. It was about 2 feet thick, but was fairly slow when it came down.

This is the smaller side to the North of BIG HOUSE.

No, you're thinking about Big House.

Drag Race Hill is to the east a little.

actually the wide slide was not at the race hill. the race hill one was much smaller and actually on an adjacent slope to it.just to clarify.....

Mike, the hill we looked at is called Drag Race Hill (these days that is...1 East for the old timers like 4Z), not to be confused with Big House, which is the Race Hill (just to clarify ).

yes its call rotax hill. and its the same hill that a sledder 6 year ago.

So here's what I've learned from this thread:

Big House, also called the Race Hill, also called Rotax Hill (this is the hill that slid a few years ago and killed a sledder).

Drag Race Hill, also called 1 East is where the larger slide on Friday happened that I mentioned in my original post.

Also on Friday, a smaller slide occured just to the west of Big House.
