Setting up Nytro MTX Suspension-Newbie question

I have a Newbie question regarding setting up suspension on the sled. I know that every person is different in what they like, harder/softer. I have been riding the sled stock for the last 200 miles, except for adjusting the limiter straps up all the way, which was done prior to me riding it by the shop. I was wondering what happens to the sled when you make modifications to the suspension. Like will softening up the front end make it easier to sidehill, or does it need to be stiffer? Is it better to have a stiffer ride in on the trails and softer in the deep pow pow? How does stiffening up the rear suspension make the sled handle in different conditions? What is ski pressure and how do I adjust for it with that suspension? I know that most of this is suspension 101 for most of you, just looking for a little help. I have enjoyed reading this forum, alot of good information in here.

Thanks, 13

The entire suspension is TOO soft! The front shocks need to be maxed out just to make it ridable. The Nytro rolls so well that it won't be a problem on the sidehills or powder. The rear suspension torsion springs suck. I am only 160lbs and I bottom it out all day long. If you put it on the stiffest setting it may become tougher to handle in the bumps. The ski preasure is adjusted by the transfer nuts at the rear of the skid (check manual). With a low attack angle on the track (loose front skid shock), you may not need as much transfer. The more aggresive your riding the more inadequate the stock shocks become.
My .02 cents

Best thing you can do is try it out....try changing something...ONE THING AT A TIME, so you can always go back..some people like it soft like me and some like ditch-banging..Most everyone has replaced the rear shock with an ohlins and the springs with apex springs. I even found the front to be too soft to carry any speed in the moguls..Don't let anyone talk you into their set-up....you are the one who has to be happy with it.................02

If you can stand it throw the stock suspension in the garbage and get the Timbersleds for $1450. It drops 30 pounds off plus another 5 for the drop brackets. The best thing it does is get the running boards out of the snow. The stock ones are too wide. I like the wide running boards but if you lay it over they drag and you just spin out. Nothing you will ever do will drop that much weight for $1450. The stock stuff is too soft as usual.
