Servicing Chain Case

I have a 2016 SKS. I don't believe these have the drain plug on the bottom of the chain case like the proride had. If they do there is no hole in the plastic belly to be able to see or get at it. Can anyone confirm? Looks like we need to pull the cover to get change oil.

I just regeared my 3". I used one of those gear lube pumps from parts store and added a long piece of small tubing to the pickup side. I removed fill plug and pumped out the CC oil. I removed the cover and there was not much remaining. You could do this as well, just refill vs removing cover.

I was wondering the best way to remove the cover without making a mess.

Works nice to balance sled with 4-5 2x4 or 2x6 on running boards ( if ur worried about laying it completely over and scratching it up on the bottom side) been doing this way since edge style sleds

What ratio did you go with? I was going to change the top gear to a 20 (2.39). I haven't had to open up a chaincase in years and was wondering what all it entailed. I thought there was some adhesive (Lords) that you had to heat up before removing the cover?

Stock Assault Gearing is 20/40 with a 2.6

The 7 Tooth drivers make these a 2.31 final ratio ..

A Pro Driver or just 8 tooth cogs put trail gears back to reality ...or run 24/36 and final comes around 1.7

Do the SKS ones have a 8 tooth ??

I let the cover off and the oils ran in the pan very cleanly out the gap !! Then a wipe with a rag after a Gas or brake clean chaser and it looks new ..

Wish the battery was back in the Edge position ahead of the pipe and a smaller muffler if it has to be made from World War II bed pans of Cast Iron.

One of these would work great, and for many other things around the shop. Lawn mowers, changin oil from the resevoir on sleds, fuels etc...

Nevermind, id post a pic but it wont let me since my prem membership expired.

Its a mighty vac fluid extractor.

Yeah, went with 20/44 in my 3" RMK (stock is 19/44).

Cover just like the pro-ride models, except for oil drain. Suck out oil (or wait and use other methods described), remove caliper, remove rotor, remove sleeve that seals around jackshaft. I also removed the o-ring. Remove bolts for cover and remove cover.

I changed gears in my 17 SBA 800. I sucked as much CC fluid out as I could, then drilled a little hole in the belly pan directly below the CC and the remainder simply drained thru that hole into a cup or collector below..pretty clean actually. I then put a small dab of silicone over the hole...not really needed but trying to keep as much ish out as I can. I don't know why they don't put a drain!?
