service dog vest

anyone bought your dog a service/seeing eye dog vest so you could take him into places, like the bar?

One night i talked a bartender into letting me bring my black lab in but it was a tough sell, thinking about buying him a vest off online to make it easier because he loves to party. He had a serious bender last thursday and we saw the sun come up and then snuggled to 3pm the next day.

some places I've found let you equip their vest with patches like "working dog do not pet" or "service dog" "ask before petting"

Is it me or is this a brillant idea? plus you'd always have a sober driver!

If you have a well behaved dog that just likes to hang out all the time I can't see how this could go wrong. Maybe not so much on the DD, but maybe you can train him to hit a speed dial button for a cab when the night is over. You might have to have your beer goggles on no matter what no one catches on that you know exactly how to get around everywhere you go. Give it a try.

You know some people might be offended on what your asking others to con-don. Not me but others out there. I know here in MT it's not that big of deal, unless there is food of any kind being served there then it's a big no no.

My wife has a medical service dog. It can go anywhere. The only problem with your plan is the dog won't be allowed to party. If he parties, it will be obvious he's not "on duty". Then he'll have to pay a cover charge like everyone else.
It's great for getting first class upgrades when you fly and the ladies always want to "pet your dog"!! :face-icon-small-win
