Serious oil leak.

So I know that when the sled sits for a few then you start and run it, it does pool some oil in the exhaust and then leaks down into the belly pan. I am having an issue with it leaking fresh oil. I can fill the res with oil and put some new cardboard under the sled then in a day or two the cardboard is soaked and the res is damn near empty. Is anyone else having this issue?

I don't. but start checking the oil hoses and where it exits the oil res. I'm guessing a hose has rubbed and is leaking or the outlet is leaking. Worst case one of the fitting into the cases may be broke some how.

What year is the sled in question? The 11's had some serious oil line rubbing and was only a matter of time before a line would rub through.

Under warranty? Take it to your dealer. Your oil level should not be dropping sitting in your garage. Put the Polaris oil cap back on. They don't vent properly and the vacuum, keeps the oil from leaking out. (Come on guys couldn't help myself) Seriously Savage you have a problem.

Its a 13 and it has the 4 year warr so i just need to get my trailer finished so i can drag it upto the dealer. I just didnt know if anyone else had the same issue.

IMO, the brass inlet fitting to the oil pump is located in a bad spot and is quite prone to damage when removing / installing the engine. I've bought 4 engines and two of them had that fitting knocked loose or bent, either when they were pulling the engine or during shipping. It sits nearly flush with the bottom of the crankcase and I think it gets knocked about more than people realize.

I've also read posts similar to your where they have seen fresh oil under the sled and found that fitting had fallen out of the pump. Definitely worth a look.

I have seen this same issue twice now. Once on my sled and once on a customers. The OEM clamp on the brass fitting that is on the inlet of the oil pump was allowing oil to seep by. I got rid of the OEM clamp and put a screw type clamp on it and the problem was fixed.

I just thought i would give an update on the leak. So i finally got a chance to get it into the dealer for the leak issue. I also found my a arm glue failed so i had them fix that too. They said the o rings in the injector pump failed and they had to replace the whole thing. I havent seen a drop of oil come out so i think its good to go. Im glad i didnt try to fix it myself. Thanks...
