Unloaded on freshly plowed road at 4wd Sherman peak turn off.

Snow at odd house turn off 3 feet plus.

Sherman pass snow depth one foot below stop sign.

Mt Whitney sign very exposed.

Palomar Meadow by yurt had 3 feet powder.

Upon return snow dropped to 4500 feet. 6 plus inches on the road at horse meadow turn off.

Do they groom up there?

Yes they get OHV money and a dedicated groomer and a road plowing contract from Jan 1 to I think 31 vMarch to a staging area where no bald trail to higher elevations. At least that is how it works.

At least 80 - 100 miles of groomed trails.

Has Bob started grooming up there yet?

Bob groomed up there around XMAS but not since then.

The retired Caltrans road plower in the white truck was told to keep the road open (2 lanes) to where the groomer is parked.

The groomer is parked at the last place to turn around before the major turn out with the porta potty.

The staginging area is plowed at least two trucks wide and 30-40 yards in length.

Of course we both know it should be groomed more and the road should be open to the porta potty turnoff.

The FS does groom up there when the machine is working properly.

Thank goodness it's not that much though...I don't know why you'd want to ruin all the good boondocking. ;)
Anyone pick up me and my sled?

I say you could ride in Big Bear with at least 2 feet this weekend.

Just talked to Bob Fernes.

Will be at Sherman pass area grooming starting today and next few days and get as much done as he can.

Definitely needs to setup.

I would think those signs at Sherman pass are buried.

I think the "boys from Bakersfield" are in for a ride.

I have Thursday and Friday off but not Saturday. What is your schedule like?
