SEMA to Oppose EPA Action as Threat

The EPA (and any tax funded entity for that matter) need a STRONG reminder that THEY SERVE US, not the other way around.

I think there is overreach on both sides of this fight. lets face it Tuners for years have been skating around regulations to gain better performance. One way of doing this is by calling their race cars daily drivers. The EPA allows leas stringent requirements on race cars because they are only suppose to be run on the track and for short periods of time hence less pollution. However, when you take said races cars and calm that they are daily drivers and drive them constantly they increase pollution. I am all for performance cars but i am also very fond of breathing so we need to find a balance. we will never do that if every time there is a conflict the opposing sides go to the extremes to prove something is either right or wrong. Aftermarket companies pushing performance parts should have to follow guidelines just like everyone one else. they don't just get a free pass because they feel they deserve one. I just don't like the idea of guys crying foul for driving cars that by any definition are full on race cars on the street by just saying "its my daily driver"

The problem with your argument is that the percentage of vehicles that are actually modified, and the percentage of the overall emissions being released is like 1 cup of water in the pacific ocean. This is a pure power-grab to create more government jobs.

40 years ago, we needed to clean up.
We needed to clean up our cars, our powerplants our industries etc, it was all filthy.
Over these years we have made tremendous improvements
We are now at a point where I consider it a tipping point.
Do we all want it cleaner? Yes, but we have to look at gains in a "Bang for the Buck" point of view.
We are so clean now that future gains will add more costs to the related products than we desire to pay.
Let's say I'm paying $.10/Kw, proposed regulations on coal powerplants could easily put that number at $.15
I do not desire our air to be cleaner by a margin that cannot even be measured at an increase of 50% in energy bill.

If you're thinking that you are willing to pay 50% more, stop & realize that EVERYTHING you purchase will also be effected by said increase.
Not a feasible option for our economy.
Tipping point.

Furthermore, we have enough coal to keep us warm until he11 freezes over,

and then we have enough coal to stoke up He11 & keep it warm for eternity as well.

And we have people who want to see the end of coal use.
This makes me feel like my head is going to fu(#ing explode!
How can anybody be so damned stupid?!!
Makes as much sense as a vegan cattle rancher.
End of rant.......maybe.
