Self-Diagnosis Warning Codes

Buddy has an 04 RX1 that he rode 4 times last year put stabilizer in fuel and parked, did not run it through carbs. Went to start it tonight after sitting since March, and wouldn't fire. We squirted a bit of fuel into each carb and it started but ran rough as expected started to smooth out the tripped the check engine light and produced a flashing code "3" which is two flashes pause two flashes pause ....

There is no info in the manual as to what that may be just to see a yamaha dealer, unfortunately the closest one is two hours away. We are planning on changing the plugs tommorrow but....Any ideas guys?

I have let your friend know, but in case you check first, this is what I've found.
According to my manual a flash, flash pause indicates a grip warmer short circuit. It say's a .75 sec light flash/ .25 sec pause / .75 sec light flash /1.75 sec pause, repeated is a handgrip warmer short. Good luck I hope this helps.
