Secondary Spring ?

So it seems i have a bit of a bog on the low end. im running a 140-240 secondary spring with the 66-44.46 helix. it doesnt fall on its face or anything, it just seems that it doesnt want to pull good rpms from a stop. just wondering what it would do if i installed a spring with a higher initial rate like a 160-240?
Thanks
Jason

As a rule of thumb...not gospel, adjust primary for RPM's and secondary for MPH.
If you drop a size in the helix to a 64 you should gain some track speed with that spring.
If you drop a couple of grams on the primary weights you should gain a couple of hundred RPM's....should. Not sure where you ride and snow conditions and style etc....

Thanks. im not so much trying to get more speed as i am trying to get holeshot. i like how the sled pulls against the 66 but am wondering if i should pull against it longer with a tougher spring. or r u saying the sled cant pull against the 66? my peak rpms r at 7850 and i dont want to change that so its hard to change anything in the primary.

I'm not a race tuner but I believe your about as close as your going to get on the clutches. I would make one or two more changes to see if it improves to where you want it. First, I would stick with that secondary spring and drop to a 64-42 or 38 helix for the hole shot. But eventually you are going to trade off the top end speed for it.
If that's not what you want, try the stiffer secondary with either of those helix's if your giving up to much break away speed after the hole shot.
That's about it unless you want to spend some big bucks on race clutching.

Yes, I would try that....or a 160/260. Another route is a little more primary spring at engagement.
The secondary spring is a good way to tune of the line and very low speed "feel"....it will have little effect on mid-peak RPM with the small change but a noticable effect where you need it.

So i put my other primary spring in (160-300) and that seemed to fix it. must allow the engine to be into power a little more off the line. But now im worried i will be spinning a few too many rpms. havent gotten it wide open but its running around 7900 rpm peak. should that be ok or is that too high for this engine. i have the slp pipe setup.
Thanks
