Secondary clutch play

2001 xc sp edge factory snow x sled, Cr tunnled and longtracked. I have owned since new... how much play should the secondary clutch have on the jack shaft. there are 3 spacers on the back side of it, and at least 8-10 washers on the frnt side, how much play is acceptable? I would say it has 5mm's of play across the shaft,, took the clutch off to fix broken bolt then upon install noticed the play,,, i would assume it has had this much play since new. dose this sound like a safe tolerance.

The secondary should have some play on the jackshaft. It should have enough to allow it to come into proper allignment with the primary. I'm not sure about your sled, but I think it is a 5/8" offset from the primary to the secondary. You will need a clutch offset tool to evaluate this.
