secondary clutch help

i have an 04 edge 800 with about every engine mod you can bolt on.in reverse i can barley get it off trailer some times i have to tilt the trailer.the secondary opens and slips belt.it also has the twin traxs helix,we moved to other ramps and put a new spring in .every thing else looked good.spring is red with black stripe.i would hate to buy a helix and it not fix. cant afford a new team tied rite now. any help on what is wrong would be greatly appreciated

You need to post what helix is in it now, is the spring in the hole properly to give it tension?

Stock secondary? Is the helix compatible with reverse?

Sounds like the helix is not ER compatible, can easily put notches with a hole saw of correct size.

The 04' should have a Team TSS-98 driven clutch, helix is held in with 8 torx bolts. The helix should have "ER" in the name engraved on it, meaning it is an electronic reverse compatible helix. If not then as Marv1 noted, you can cut the slots in the helix so the rollers won't ride up the ramps and open the sheaves.

i dont remember all the #s i think the middle numbers are 38 for high elevation and 42 for lower elevation. it is er. i ve tried both set of ramps with no difference the helix was put in in 06 and worked fine until now. it is not a stock helix there are no hole that the spring locks in to wined.

If it worked before and not now and your sure its the secondary that is the problem then it must be a broken secondary spring.
