Thinking about this seat thing again what are some options out there on 900 Seats, what have you guys done? Looking at going taller and a bit shorter.

I like this new look of the WRP Seat, this pic was just posted up now if this fit's on a 900 mmmmm.

I used the stock tank.

Removed the plastics from the rear and installed a 09 seat post

Think he wants taller seat not seat post, so it is either do what you did and take seat to a local upholstery shop or get a newer tank and console so you can buy aftermarket seats.

Ahh, OK

I had my local upholstery shop add some to mine...4" thick along the entire top of the seat. It crowned up the top of the seat real nice. :)

If you go with a newer tank your going to run into problems there too... the fuel pump is located in a TOTALLY different place... more headaches to deal with. Your best bet for a taller seat would be to go to a local upholstery shop.

Fuel pump different place, Dash is different, tank mounts different.

Thanks, thinking the upholstery shop is the way to go as well use the stock pan and build up the foam, go a bit stiffer, cut down the back a bit and the fit is proper without having the gaps of a newer style fit on. I did a little mod on this seat once already after spending some time last season riding with the taller/shorter seat then you plant your butt down on the stock 900 seat, man I feel like I am in a 72 Cadillac low rider. Going a bit shorter will help as well, I sometimes catch the tip of the seat with my boot switching sides, maybe fit a LED Light in the back higher up.

i have had great luck with upholstery shops taking seats apart and putting them back together and making the look great.... i have had bad luck with upholstery shops using foam that is as dense as the oem foam. they can never seem to get good foam. just stress to the shop you decide to goto, just how dense of foam you want!

SEAT

WRP can make a seat for you. Just send your seat to them and they'll use your seat pan to build it. I had them build mine it turned out great it was the proto type for the 05 900. And now they offer it for us 900 guys go to there web site and you will find it. You can pick seat out there.:face-icon-small-ton
