Seat Light...

Hey there,

I might not be the best testimony for the durability of the relocation as I've only been out riding a few times; however, the steps taken to make this happen include:

1) Bought the billet LED light from VE for 35 bucks.

2) Clipped the factory wiring in the rear tunnel.

3) Purchased 4 feet 20 gauge by 3 wires at Lowes.

4) Wired the new piece under the plastic gas tank in the existing groove. To do this pull seat off and pry tank upward so wiring slides undernieth.

5) Drilled 3/8 hole in bottom plastic base in seat.

6) Purchased 3 small L brackets from Lowes for mounting.

7) Bent the L brackets to the angle needed on back of seat.

8) Carved sharp edges of VE mounting bracket so edges can't puncture seat.

9) Mounted light to L brackets using 1/4 inch bolts and lock nuts.

10) Attached new lowes wiring to VE factory wiring in seat compartment.

11) Attached lowes wire to factory tail light harness located just above can.

12) Reattached seat and bingo good to go.

The unit seems mounted firmly and is recessed under back lip of seat so should be out of the way. I'll try to post more pics later. Some of my pics you've probably seen on the other tunnel post.

Talk later.

Normal sized gas can could pose challenges for full visibility. Works well for me as I don't ride with a gas can and normally pack gear into HMK pack so no tunnel bag either.
