It's just beginning...wake surfing season that it. :face-icon-small-ton

50 degree water temp and 70 degree air temp with overcast skies make it a bit chilly though.

last may 22 I rode pow at WC. May 23 I was wake surfing at Navajo lake NM! BRRRRRRRRR

I rode a man made wave at the indoor water park in ALB NM. on Sat! Pretty COOL!

We took the family up to the Walden Dunes yesterday....it's bare....I'd say 85% of the area is rideable without much effort. We shouldn't even be able to drive to the restrooms, let alone onto the dunes, but we all had a blast. Deadman's was a cakewalk, same condition as end of season last summer. I'll be summerizing my sled in 2 weeks. Looking to pick up a 4 seat RZR 900 this year.

I spent the weekend in McCoy riding red dirt single track. Pretty damn fun. Not much of a sand man myself.

Hey guys, don't give up yet. Mid May of 2008 found us riding 3 feet of powder on Vail. So good we went three times. We are heading over to Moab the 4th of April to the EJS and play on the red rocks for a week, been in the high seventies, damn near that warm here. The county usually plows off the bike path behind our house here in Frisco in early April. They will save some $$$ this year, it's already melted off. Our snowmobile club always did an Easter egg hunt for the local kids here in Frisco on snowmobiles in the seventies and eighties. Always a lot of snow. This is the earliest melt out I've seen by far in my 42 years here in Summit County.

Yeah, but that was on an established base. The base this year is dropping several inches a day. It's bad.

Yeah... that's what's making me think it's actually worth putting them away. I'm sure we'll have a few more dumps... it's spring in CO... we've GOT to get a FEW more... RIGHT???? But it'll be somewhat like early season snows, they're on top of rocks, this will be on top of a layer of ice & over rocks that have popped up again.

There's a jump I hit at Jones all the time, on sat the WHOLE run in was exposed with tundra & rocks... I was dumbfounded at how much was showing. (this was at about 12,200)

As the guy that takes some semblance of pride in usually being the last one to hang it up... this is just so depressing. Went wheeling yesterday, then went for a hike when we hit snow... still had a fun weekend, I GUESS life goes on without sleds... but I'm not sure how exactly...

I might have to remember how to paddle my darn kayak this year, for the 3 days of water we're about to get :D

Oh, and as for the wake... I've wakeboarded every month of the year in WI... so whining about 50 deg water & 70 deg air... get my violin :p :p (ok, a few of those months we actually rode the cooling pond at the local power plant... that cost a prop or two on the nautique!!!)

I summerized my sled and took my deck out of my truck this last weekend. Pretty depressing that it had to happen so early this year.

The real question is to snow check or not....

I'm over here waving my arms around hoping I'll get an invite to come wake board with ya.. I've never done it though but I'm no noob to sliding sideways and draggin my knuckles

I dunno man. March is historically one of the snowiest months and all we got was 20 or so inches on the Fourth. Nothing worth talking about since then. Not very snowy if you ask me.

Breaks my heart William!

Not very snowy, but WC got 17" just a week ago.

Any snow that dumps now has to rebuild the base that we've lost....else the dealers will have another big run on A arms, etc. Pretty pathetic conditions for sure.

So I hear. The rest of the state got squat. It's not a pissing contest here. That 17" fell early in the week. For the average man to wait till the weekend to do the drive, that snow was beat down, melted and pretty much mashed taters by Friday. I see the weather and the entire state got sunny, breezy and very warm. I have seen 30" turn to crap in less than a day once the sun and wind pick up. I also saw Dizzle's pics from last weekend and while you still have a great base, the soft freshness was long gone. WC is still setup for a good dump, but RE, Buff, SC, SLO are all toast. There was only a 54" at the beginning of March and now it's down considerably. Face it, 90% of the state was subpar for moisture and we are in for a very long and dry Summer.
