sdi motors in 04's

Looking at upgrading my wife's sled to a rev style chassis. I found an 04 600 H.O. After researching some I read about SDI> I had to look this up as I didn't know what it meant. When did they start putting these motors in and would this sled have this motor. Also I've heard that 04 had some engine troubles. IS this so or is it just like most others, depends on who you talk to. Any advice would be appreciated.

i think sdi means semi direct injection? either way its like fuel injection.

i think they started coming out in o4/05 in the rev chassis. but if the motor is an HO i dont think it would be an SDI.

from what ive heard the 600sdi seems to be a pretty good motor.

The SDI came out in 04 and is basically an EFI Engine.

I have an 05 600 SDI and it is marked as a 600 HO SDI on the decals on the sled. I believe that all the 600 SDI are High Outputs. Not that it really means anything.

It has been a great engine and I would not think twice about getting another.
