SD Pheasant Hunts.

I've thought of offering that also, but we only have enough land for about 1/2 a day.:(

Sounds like a fun idea for a get together though!

I would be game for a get together.. haha.. But there is so many pheasants back there who needs a guide.. :D

may need a CAN guide. Sometimes they are hard to spot......too many mixed breeds running around. Need a guide with a mental dictionary of CAN's

:)

We'll be in Miller the 1st week of November hunting them rascaly cridders!!:):)

if any sw'ests are around the orient or polo,sd area the first weekend let me know for sure.. he have a bunch of land around there.. but if we could get something setup i might be game.. :D

Nate this is very true.. It takes years and years of experince to bag trophy CANS.. something that most will need a guide for.. being able to spot the ones in season is very difficult.. however PH's like me have the experince needed to desifer which is a shooter CAN.. :eek::D

if your going pheasant hunting go out to ipswich it's 30miles west of aberdeen alot of birds out there and im only 10miles from it all :D:D i hunt on my way home from work alot :D:D

grew up 10 miles south of aberdeen. still have never missed an opening weekend on some of my old stomping grounds. i believe in the fact that there are so many birds and public ground, you don't need a guide.

i havent made it up fishing yet this year, what are you locals seeing for crp acres getting tore up to plant crop. makes me wonder what this will do to your population if too much gets put back into production.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'd love to make it out and drop some roosters but I have more time then money and neither one is in surplus right now.

I finished off a suicidal rooster today down by Cresbarb, SD with my work pickup. It was a tripple hit; off the bumper/grill onto the windshield, and then smacked the box of seed that I was hauling in the back. Those birds are as thick as flies on the roads.

Just like the suicidal deer!!:eek:

I grew up/hunt around redfield an there are noticable acres being tore up, not just crp, but natural grassland as well. its kind of sad to see, but thats the way it goes when theres $ to be made:rolleyes:. as for the population taking a hit, it might have an effect on the birds, but there will still be a Sh*#ton of em around. They'll adapt an use other cover just as well as the grass. Short of a major epidemic, I don't see them taking a hit in population anytime soon, at least around here.

an besides, we all know you crazy out-of-staters can't hit sh*t anyway:D:D,(especially you MN's) so you got nothing to worry about:beer;

btw, the first wkends are a friggin blast in town! its like a mini circus. u never know whats gonna happen next

so am i an out of stater, even though i was raised there?:D
i think it will take a few years to show, but as the grass disappears, the higher concentrations in what cover is left will amaze the people that have never been there before.:eek::beer;

ha ha, just reminded myself of the year we brought a newbie up to hunt.
like dumbasses we set him up to block. when the birds erupted, he almost dropped his gun.:eek: i don't think the guy fired a shot on the first push. i love the look on peoples faces when they see it for the first time.

hahahaha I can visualize that!!!:D
