SCS-Redbull-3SWfilms-Cooke City trip

SCS/RedBull Sledstyle team and the 3SW crew from Bozeman made a trip up to Cooke City at the end of May. Spent a few days up there riding along with the RedBull groomer. We had a rough time with the weather but all in all had a great week. Built a few jumps when the weather broke and here are the pics.

Wow Cool pics,, and man do I love Redbull and its great that Redbull sponsers people to go out and sell there name for them, but how do they feel when you destroy public property to do it?(I have pics also)?WTF???I know you guys only ride up there once a year and no one is around and you feel like you own the place but YOU DONT!!! jumping your sleds on top of old cabins is NOT Cool (People still use them..)by anymeans and by you doing this just ups the chances for us snowmobilers to get our riding areas taken away...Comon Guys!! GROW UP....

Have you guys got the video's of the step up? How was will's shoulder? I had kind of a rough day today. I took ryans sled out to Cooke for the last time of the year and the bolt at the back of the tunnel that holds the skid in place was lost so we had to limp back to the truck. BUT since we didn't get to do any riding we decided to drop off daisy and just take turns on my 900. That worked well until i hit a cut off tree under the snow climbing on the back side of daisy and it ripped the track in two. It was kind of a long day. About a 5 mile hike out.

I can blow up the pics but then you won’t be able to post them on snowest and they would be grainy. Your pics are just about as big as they can get actually. I will have a vid up of my wreck soon. If I can just figure out how to put up some music to cover up my camera mans cussing?

i don't see any damage? Those cabins foundations are rotted away and they are infested with rock chucks living in the basements. Ever been to than cabin by daisy? People have been using the roof as a jump for years. If there was any damage done i can assure you it was entirely an accident that probably won't happen again. If the greenies use that as excess to close Cooke down then they have problems. You should see all the trash that is left up there. It’s a dump at the bottom of lulu, daisy, and the trail is rattled with sled parts and trash. I found 2 shovels, a rev skid plate, a rev mud flap, part of an a-arm, and a broken fly handle bar.

I truly don't believe that we damaged any part of that cabin. If anything there could be a few scratches from the skis but no severe damage. That building is still very strong and we did not jeoperdise the structure. I understand the consiquinces of ruining public property and would not have done it if that was the case. Are intentions were to go over the cabin and we only landed on it a hand full of times before we were confident to go over it. I am sorry if we pissed any one off and we always would like to feel welcome in Cooke for years to come. I am going up there this weekend and will check out any damage and if it can be repaired i am happy to do so!

that groomer is sick.

That groomer is GAY! Look at the trail it's laying down, I wouldn't be too proud of that no matter the temp, a Tucker pulling a Mogul Master would do much better in any temperature. Sure it can push snow and haul some folks around BIG DEAL!

Actually I would like to see some hi res photos of it by itself. I still bleed Orange through and through but it's pretty neat to see different stuff all decked out once in a while.

the cabin was already starting to fall apart , but please let nature take its course not a snowmobile, the rap us snowmobilers take for stuff is bad enough..but anyway cool ,point made... and Im sure you guys will think twice next time you try to jump a (Public) cabin :face-icon-small-win

Not to throw fuel on the fire here but what is the sense of doing this? Most of us here have seen those cabins at the end of the trail there in Cooke when nothing has been visible except a vauge outline of a cabin. I'm sure snow puts more load on it then a sled or two but with that being said it still comes back to the question of why? Historic or not let nature take it's course without being helped by man. Also jumping a cabin or house or something like that has been done for years in videos so it's nothing new. I think it kind of gets glanced over when watching these things now. If you put it in the video I'm sure there will be people crying foul from our sport and worse from outside our sport.

Speaking of finding garbage I lost a GPS out by Daisy in a creek bottom if anybody finds it. Has my name on it when you turn it on. I would pay a reward if somebody finds it.....:-)

I found a GPS 2 weeks ago out by daisy... Whats your name? Is it the creek strait away from daisy? the one with an open medow to the left and trees along the right? I can look for it tomarrow when i go to retrieve my 900. I will look for you. If you tell me your name i'll tell you if its your or not. I actually can't turn it on because i can't charge it but you could try and tell me the brand and moddle.

First off.... RJ... The groomer moves snow and it looks trick so why does it suck ? Thanks to the guys from SCS Vinyl works, its the best looking groomer i have ever seen! http://www.scsvinylworks.com/portfolio/RBcattracks.html

A groomer shouldn't just move snow, it should be able to groom it, with that tiller it wasn't fullfilling it's roll very well. But seriously it does have a good look, it just would look a whole lot better if it was a Tucker instead of a Pisten Bully 100, that's all! Notice my avitar?

tuckers are a pos. our club is constantly fixing. i think they must build in a shed with what ever junk they have laying around.

Hmmm, if that was the case why would they out sell the competition two to one in the snowmobile trail grooming segment? Remember they aren't the cheapest alternative out there and people keep buying them. 1) They do the job of trail grooming better then anything else and 2) They are easy to fix in general with all or most of the parts available stateside and at your local CarQuest and Napa stores.

What year Tucker does your club have, also is it steel cleated or all rubber tracked? If you say pre 1997 I feel for you, it's time to upgrade and if it is such a POS as you say, why in the heck doesn't your club upgrade or change? Don't worry I know the real answers. 1) You probably don't drive it, work on it or do anything for the club, you are simply a paying member and that's it, and 2) Are one of the members that simply think their is always something greener on the other side?

How close am I?
