Screwed over firefighters speaking to the Senate and Sotomayor now

Wow, the lead guy with dyslexia just read his testimony on Fox. It was pretty powerful and a bit of a struggle for him.

Now the Hispanic firefighter is speaking and saying he didn't want sympathy or "empathy," [Obama's desire for a Justice] but just equal treatment under the law. Pretty emotional the sacrifices these guys made to study hard and work on their tests, what they gave up, etc., only to lose their positions to hire black firefighters who did not pass their tests, thanks to Sotomayor. Fortunately they won at the Supreme Court level, but it's shameful it even got to this. Can't wait to hear her defend herself. I do not want this woman as a supreme court justice! She is a racist and an uberliberal.

One of the points made by the firefighters was this isn't the kind of job you want to advance in because of the color of your skin because people's lives and possessions are on the line and depending on your skill.

Edit: They now have the Fox summary of it:
"The lead plaintiff in the New Haven firefighter case central to Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination said Thursday that the federal appellate court judge ruled in his case based on "politics" and "personal feelings" -- and not the law.

"Americans have the right to go into our federal courts and have their cases judged based on the Constitution and our laws, not on politics and personal feelings," Frank Ricci, the lead plaintiff in the case Ricci v. DeStefano, told members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Sotomayor was one of three judges who unanimously dismissed the claim of white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., who alleged racial discrimination over the city's decision to scrap a promotions exam after too few minorities scored well -- a ruling that was overturned 5-4 by the Supreme Court last month.

"Achievement is neither limited nor determined by one's race but by one's skills, dedication, commitment, and character. Ours is not a job that can be handed out without regard to merit and qualifications," Ricci said. "Enduring over five years of court proceedings took a toll on us and our families. But at some point we began to understand that this case was no longer about the 20 of us but about so many other Americans who had lost faith in the court system because of what happened to us."

Sotomayor has said repeatedly that her panel was bound by precedent, an assertion that was challenged in an opinion by fellow Judge Jose Cabranes, her one-time mentor..."

Unfortunately she will sail on through now that she's part of the Obama cult.

Rational thinking and application of the law as prescribed by the constitution is dead I'm affraid.

It's all about who can make the most false promises and sell themselves to the ignorant (there's more of them) Then run your term as the puppet masters tell you because you'll never be held to the things you promise during your candidacy and the press will give you a free pass and.....

.....But I digress....Yep, she's crap.

.

I missed this from Newsbusters.

Obama's supposed to be this constitutional lawyer and the MSM repeatedly touted this (yet says he wants a justice with "empathy" so he picked Sotomayor the self described "wise Latina")

This is what Soto said about BO's comment, LOL. (I don't think she means it, she's just BSing to get in) Of course the MSM doesn't say anything about that.
=====

"Two months ago, as President Obama was contemplating a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter, many in the media elite — particularly NBC News reporters and anchors — sycophantically touted Obama’s credentials as a constitutional law professor as evidence of his deep experience when it came to the judiciary.

Yesterday, however, Obama’s pick for the Court, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, explicitly repudiated Obama’s belief that judging should be based on “empathy” or “the heart.” Sotomayor told senators: “I don’t, wouldn’t, approach the issue of judging in the way the President does.”
