So I decided to go the MX helmet route this year. Got a new helmet (Gmax 37S)and a set of Scott googles with the quick strap.
Get home and install the quick straps on the helmet. The velcro piece that stays on the helmet appears to be sticking ok - first ride out, it comes off - so I ended up having to swap out to the faceshield. Ended up trying to use some epoxy to get the velcro to stay - no go. Now keep in mind, this is a Flat black helmet - so I honestly think that's the issue - if the helmet was shiny, I think the adhesive would stick just fine. So in any case after all this dorking around I said screw it and decided to go to a strap - I KNOW those won't fail.
So, looked around for someplace to buy the straps - can't find anyplace selling the straps, so I call Scott directly. Got a hold of the snowmobile goggles department and explained what happened and what I wanted to do - and that I needed to know where I could buy just the strap. The guy at Scott said "I probably have a strap lying around here, let me get your address and I'll send it out"
2 Days later, and I get a new strap in the mail. No questions asked. That's GREAT customer service in my book. Now some of you might say "The quick straps should have stuck better" but I feel it's more of a problem with the finish on the helmet than the design of the straps and adhesive.
So two thumbs up for Scott's customer service.
