Decision was made at last nights grooming council meeting.....

"The forest service will be opening the Mount Baker National Recreation Area tomorrow. With the warning that if the snow level is less then 2 feet in the area we are not to ride there. There is not much base so be safe and cautious! Shiny Side up - Rubber Down! Let's Ride!" - www.northwestglaciercruisers.com

Ton's of snow up above so please tread lightly till you get there. 24" rule is in full effect and will be enforced!

Let's ride!!

Is there usually somewhere to find parking there, even when it's busy? I would like to take the girlfriend to Schreibers as well but we've never been there before,

If there is snow down near 2000 feet there are three different parking lots. Which one you use depends on snow line. Otherwise the roads are wide and allow for lots of additional parking spots.

Took a cruise up towards Schriebers last night to scope things out for the weekend. Only a few inches at the first parking area but my F250 was dragging bottom by the third area. With more on the way I think this weekend should be looking good.

Went for a short ride today up to the restroom, lone behold a Van parked in the middle of the road nearly 3/4 the way to the restroom. They had driven up day before and camped some where up the in the Meadows, will be a problem for our groomer and all of us as there was nearly 3 feet of new on top of it and in front of it. I hope they contact Randy for help before they decide on other means and methods.

Can say one thing is sure, it will be a stuck fest all the way up the mountain on Saturday deep and heavy. Parking can be had all three lots as there was 4 to 5 inches at the first one and snow all the way up, nice start for sure.

Randy is aware and the forest service has been notified. They are looking into missing person reports. The tent is located right in the middle of the trail into the meadow and there was noone to be found. Hope it's not a springtime recovery effort.

As for the van, they are discussing options. It will be interesting for sure. One thought was to use the groomer to angle the blade and fold all the snowto one side and provide access to get the van removed then putting it back. Not sure how feasible that would be.

There fine, we seen the two dudes and talked to them while they packed up, Yep right in the middle of the trail as stated.

Thanks AJ for the update.

If I only got a buck for every rig I've seen I'n that predicament. That chit is Normal on Lion Rock from either access! :face-icon-small-con

With some assistance from our groomer, this van was removed today. They were very lucky he was willing to help them get it down the mountain. He groomed the trail all the way up to the van and all the way back out to ensure there were not any ruts. Nice Work Randy!!
