I suppose this would be considered "land use", but very few would even see it there!

Fed about to own YOUR pond/stream/creek without compens... - 6/13/2009 8:47:14 AM

I find it ludicrous that liberals were upset at the phantom loss of privacy when terrorist phone calls were listened in on to prevent US civilian deaths, but any grab of the private sector by the fed is perfectly ok!

I agree with Wolfrun, complacemcy kills.

Example:
During the Nazi invasion in Poland, many Jews chose not to flee from the Nazis because they thought that THEY, with their wealth and supposed "power in society" would somehow escape the mass killings of already over a million Jews. Even when their next door neighbors in the same social standing as they were pulled from their homes by the Nazis, they still did not run. Even when they were placed in the camps like Auschwitz, they still thought that the Nazis wouldn't do anything to THEM personally. THEY were murdered and their complacency helped pull the trigger!

FACT:
:face-icon-small-sadIts not much of a different attitude here in America today.

What will we have to live for if we let this continue?

I wrote a letter to the editor about this bill. This is basically what it said.

This amendment places all surface waters on private property under the regulatory control of the federal government, including ponds, creeks, swamps, etc. Anyone owning property should be concerned. Farming and agricultural interests should also be concerned. This amendment disables landowners from utilizing their land as they see fit. Landowners will see property value diminish due to increased land use restrictions.

There are already a plethora of federal laws affecting and protecting groundwater including the Safe Drinking Water Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; Toxic Substances Control Act; Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (Superfund); Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act; Federal Water Pollution Control Act.

Why do we need more government micromanagement? When has Government ever run anything efficiently without red tape, bureaucracy and fiscal irresponsibility? What will result when government meddles in farming, agriculture and private property? Although a few agricultural practices are exempt, most activities aren't and would be subject to regulation. Increased, unnecessary paperwork, fees, permits, delays, etc., will increase costs which are passed onto consumers.

Its all about incidental prosecution.
They want it so when someone is a "bad" boy, they will always have some law or act or provision somewhere to justify throwing him in prison.
Make no mistake, lawyers RUN the lib. Democrat party, as well as all others!

Many years ago when Ross Perott was running for the Prez seat he mentioned that water would be of a greater value than oil. Now its hard to find a $1.00 bottle of water in a gas station with most being $1.29, How many of those bottles would it take to fill a gallon? So gas in now worth $3.00 here & water about $8-10-12 a gal. :o

Haha water is now worth more than oil

hmmm

wonder if certain western states who are green grassed and farming are starting to realize they have no business with green grass.

From what I've heard of this bill there could be some nice things out of it....but it's a very slippery slope to go about things this way.

Well they are not going to take the rights from the land owners in Washington as the state allready claims ownership of those streams, creaks and puddles, land use laws etc, so the state will be losing their control. However the actual owner will still have to pay the taxes. Swampy:eek::mad:
