sandmans log

rode up little river this weekend out of black creek. to all hunters, everything east of hemlock lake is shut down due to the boze fire. from apple creek on 138 to watson falls closed, all the way south to boulder creek area and everything in between. was a bummer, was wanting to go up to frenchs junction but no luck! from the map they had posted looks like the north end of the fire is just around mud lake. got up by the sunset saddle and the view to the south was VERY smokey!!! my eyes were burning just looking that way! trees are turning color, some great views. still quite a few campers at hemlock, bet it was chilly up there over night!!! always surprised at what some peeps will drive up into the middle of nowhere, couldn't imagine driving my sports car all the way up to hemlock. checked out some of the new cuts, why can't they log like that up near diamond??? i guess because seneca doesn't own any land up that way;) maybe we should sell them some! see those beautiful cuts and all i can think about is if there was just a few feet of snow i could take that line, sidehill through the middle that way, then change directions and top out up there. am i sick or what??? got some pics of the fall views, sorry something was on the corner of my lens and didn't notice it, hope you all can forgive me. might be time to put the quads up if the rain starts to come, need a weekend or 2 to get all my mods finished and my sled back together. just can't find the motivation to stay home unless its raining, a sunny weekend is a terrible thing to waste:) the new issue of WHITEOUT MAGAZINE is out, and yours truely has a couple of articles in there you might want to check out. this is a new mag. just starting out, they cover everything from boat racing to atv's to snowmobiling. heres the website, and its FREE!!! so check it out and let me know what ya think. have a couple of extra mags in print at the shop so if anyone wants one stop on by.

That is no rumor... But sorry to hurt your feelings, but it's no cat. We will definitely be looking you up this year, in fact we are talking about another Diamond Lake trip with Noodles and Rob this year. We will keep you posted.

tedd, look forward to it! is rob still riding the hawk??? well it rained so spent the day working on the precious. decided to put on the power claw, was going sweet until i tried to pull the drive shaft out of the caliper side bearing. it was sooooo stuck, was its first time so i tried to be gentle. you know a little, "come on baby all the other sleds are doing it" and "if you loved me you would;)" after a while of this things started getting a little more heated, "come on baby don't be like that" and "if you won't do it i know a lot of other sleds that will" soon this deteriorated to "i hate you" and "i can't believe i was willing to spend the time to work this out with you" figured if the sweet talk wasn't going to work it was time to be a little more forceful, pulled out my 10 inch gear puller and laid it to her. this was the ticket, felt the tears of joy running down my cheek when the shaft finally hit the floor!!!! luckily got ahold of trench digger and he came over to help put the skid back in, would have taken twice as long alone, THANKS JOHN:) so one mod down lots to go, am gonna sneak back down to the shop today with the grandson and finish putting all the little parts back on, hate leaving things unfinished. will work on tearing down and inspecting clutches during the week. am still waiting on my pistons, want to tear down the top end and get that project started next weekend. along with about 10 other things! snow reports are looking awesome for this time of year, hope to be riding by the end of the month. got a couple pics of the project...

here's one of her all stripped, could this be called sled pornography???

Hey Ron, thanks for the Shoutout to Seneca Sawmill......they pay my bills and very well at that! Keep up the good work!

have been wondering if ac is gonna start building thier own 2 strokes. know they have been building thier own 4 strokes now for a couple of years. those suzuki motors, at least in the M8 are sure hard to beat for reliability...

my sister and brother in law used to live in lapine, have rode paulina quite a few times. haven't been in a couple of years. your more than welcome to come over and ride anytime, since i try to ride everyweekend am always looking for someone to go with!!! growing my grandson to be my riding partner but he's only 1 so got a little while to wait:)

well... didn't get much done in the way of furthering my progress on the mods list. wanted to get the quads out one more time but with all the hunters figured better not, those roads are awful narrow and don't want to get smashed just before sled season. figure since i spent my mod day actually working at the shop should be able to fit a little mod time in during the week! seems only fair:) did start polishing the tunnel where my old seat covered where the new one won't. ugh its in horrible shape, all the years of things bouncing around in the pocket have had a terrible effect on the aluminum:( looks like some weather coming in this week, snow level a little high but every little bit helps!!! get that base started, everyone think snow...

heard the rain this morning and just had to get up and check the snowcam, 36.4 degrees:( everyone needs to start doing thier snow dance to help get the snow level down!!! i'll be boogieing all day long...

Ron, don't you mean dance all night long? You are the only one on here at 1:00 a.m.!....oh wait so am I :D Late night at work training a new guy. Winter is around the corner!

kent, never know if i'm up late or up early:) insomnia rules!!!!!!!!! sitting here listening to the rain, wishing it was cold enough up top to snow. no dancing in the middle of the night, might wake up the little woman. must be getting close my thumb is starting to itch and the only cure is more cowbell, or a couple of feet of pow;) can feel the low snow shootout getting closer, now if i can just get my sled back together...
