Sagging 05 900 IQ 166

My Rear suspension has a bit of a sag to it. When I lift up on the rear bumper it will come up about 6 inches more.

Could this be a low charge in the shock ?

Rear springs are on High setting.

I've had this same problem, first time it was a bad rear shock, had it rebuilt and then I also changed out the rear torsion springs to the .407 heavy springs, which helped alot. I am also a bigger guy too. So could be eithier I guess. You could pull the rear shock out and compress it and see if it rebounds or not.

Shock Test

OK I'll try the shock. I need to measure the springs see what it has.

This is my first season on this sled. I rode it one already I was impressed.

The shock has no effect on suspension sag...it's just for dampening. There will always be a bit of sag in the rear suspension. Holz recommends 3-1/2" of sag as measured at the rear of the seat on their coilover suspension...not sure what factory Poo is. Try some larger diameter springs if the sag is too much for you

Just finished putting in the 225 front track shock spring, and the 375 torsion springs on my 900.
On the garage floor loaded right up with fuel and such, sits high and proud finally! I think almost all IQ`s out there have an issue with sag on the stock springs. Mine was fine for the first year then it just kept getting lower and lower

i agree for the average weight rider up to 225 the .375 springs are a must. over 225 the 407's are the ticket. we have done this to several 9's they ride better and sit higher

First ride today with the 225 track shock spring and the 375 torsions and its noticeably stiffer... no more sag. I weigh 220 or so dressed to ride and its seems alot more ideal for me now.

Does anyone know the real tension diff from the 375 compaired to the 405?

Ordered the 405's from Babbits today

About 150.00 shipped. Can't wait.

I will be porting the track at the same time, I have 2 sleds that I paid to have it done. The 166 I will tackle myself.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

Might as well open all the windows too while you're at it...it'll make adding anti-ratchets that much easier if you ever decide to.
