RX1 w/ NOS??

RX1 w/ NOS... head studs??

looking to give the rx1 a bit more umph but don't think i need a turbo or supercharger, the idea of a 'button' that gets me thru the tuff spots sounds nice...

so i've been looking at systems and a wet nitrous system with an extra fuel tank seems perfect, with fuel prices i need to be able to run 87.

what i've heard is in order to run NITROUS i'll need to change out the stock head studs apparently the stock studs can stretch even at low hits of HP? i know this is a pretty big tear down on 4 strokes, what have others done, i would think the problem is universal with turbo's and SC's?? if you leave the studs stock what a safe rule of thumb 20, 40, 60 HP shots??

got NOS?

Hey Joe, tryin to scratch that HP itch?!? :D

So, uh, I don't know exactly the answer to your question, but in general I wouldn't think that even a 60 shot would require aftermarket studs. Case in point, stage I superchargers (like what Jim's running) bump the hp up to 240 (at sea level), but don't require different studs. That may be about the limit, as 280-ish and up everyone seems to say that head/motor work's needed, but I wouldn't at all be afraid to throw an additional 60 horse at the stock motor, studs and all.

Speaking of 'scratching the itch', dun did that myself! I'm buying cousin vinny's boosted vector, think it'll be in the low 200 hp range (at altitude), so I'm very stoked about that!

Good luck!

what can i say apparently good is not good enough. congrats on the new purchase should be fun! is it pretty well setup what mod's have been done? what are you doing with your RX?

the need for aftermarket studs caught me a bit off guard as well? but the guys at cb performance were definite about it and there NOS kit come with the aftermarket studs and head gasket? so i figured i'd throw out the question to the folks who run boost and high hp.

the more thought i give to the extra ponies the more i think i should just go turbo or sc?

I'm running the Holtzman 60Hp shot of nos and went thru 3 bottles last seasom. Not one bit of problem other than holding onto the bars when it kicked in:D
I think CB performance does alot bigger shots of NOS (100+HP) so that maybe the need for studs.
