RX1 engine tick after blowing a chain ?

My TRX1 hucked a chain under full whack on a hill and so it hit the rev limmiter pretty hard and now I have a tick that sounds like its comming from the head. Anyone else ever see this ?

hmmm.. the only tick's i ever hear are exhaust leaks.

i have hammered on my rev limiter a lot of times blowing belts and never really noticed any problems..

Probally floated the valves and bent a few. Better to have it looked at now before it drops a valve. I think the valves are pretty cheap. Of course have to pull the head though.

rev limiter

yamaha rta has told us (and we have seen a couple) on the rx1 motor that hitting the rev limiter will pound the rod bearing out extremely quick. i have seen 3 motors lose rod bearings because of hitting the rev limiter.

It happened on monday in beaver. It sounds like it is clutch noise. Header looks good so I am going to pull tha clutch off and listen again.

I have not pulled the header yet but I could feel exhaust comming out under the header. I hope the header bolts are not broken.

well, if its enough to easily feel, then yeah, they make a pretty good ticking noise.
might have just blown it out or something stupid

I second that, seen it lots in sportbike rebuilds..

My guess on the header leak is the bolts fell out, likley laying under the engine. Have a look into stage 8 fasterns, been the turbo game since late 03. Having great luck with, tried all things that turbo kit makers were selling. Even the norlock washers dont work.

You still have the Banser tunneled RX1 ? It was loose header bolts thank christ. Just waiting for a new rider forward post and hopefully get out for a few more rides.
