RX 1 White Knuckle Exhaust

I got the new to me 03 RX 1 Mountain sleds out yesterday. I installed a used white knuckle exhaust on one machine, primarily for the weight savings. The info said 2 db louder. First off, no gripe to the fella I got it from. Greg gave me a fair price and we had a excellent transaction. It seems this system has an awful resonance at about 7500. The actual loudness is not bad. I am thinking to wrap the exterior, or something. Any suggestions? Otherwise I am going back to stock. The other sled I bought has a homemade under tunnel exhaust, 2 glass packs with WR 250 baffles. It sounds great.

Is it the GP-1 or QC-1 that you have (glass packs or can). If it is the GP-1, and it doesn't work out, for you I have a customer looking for one...

I'm pretty sure he has the QC-1 (same as me). When I bought my QC-1 it stated +2DB and 11 lbs lighter.

Ida; I replied to your post on the TY forum. Not sure if there is anything you can do if it sounds like mine in the video I posted over there.

It is the can model. I thought the one in your video was pretty reasonable. I guess it may be worse sitting on the sled. I would take $200 and shipping if anyone wants it. 10 lbs isn't worth the annoyance. My wife will never ride the sled that loud.

I had one on my old RX1. It sounded great, but was VERY loud, esp compared to stock. It was irritating to some people but others loved it. To each his own.

The Whiteknuckle exhaust didn't have debris shields when shipped from them (you needed to use the shields from the stock exhaust). Did you (or maybe the previous owner) install the debris shields from the stock exhaust onto the Whiteknuckle exhaust when doing the swap? If so you might be getting a resonance from them. I left these off and have over 3000 issue free miles.

Here's two other videos of my sled with the QC-1 exhaust; one is WFO across a lake with super charger boost @ 5 psi and the other is riding in deep powder at 1/2 throttle with the super charger boost @ 10 psi.
