rv door location

I am about to order a 3 place 20 ft cargo mate trailer and want input on where the rv door should go. I was thinking drivers side behind the axles but the dealer wants to put it in front of the axles. Seems like there would be more room to enter / exit if it were in the rear with the single sled rather than in the front next to the side by side sleds. Any input?

You'll want it towards the back of where a sled sits. Mine is right by the seat of a sled. My buddies is at the fattest part of the belly and it is difficult to get past the bars.

Does the dealer snowmobile? and does he have a good reason for putting it there other than it's easier for him?

no reason

No, he doesn't sled and his reply was just that nobody does it that way and resale may be hard when I go to sell it. He is fine doing it my way but I thought I would through it onto to forum for information.

I have had a couple trailers now and I definately prefer the RV door to be on the passenger side so that if you need to get something out on the side of the highway youre not sticking your nose out into passing traffic or if you trip coming out of the trailer you're not going to get run over!! get some gas doors on the driver's side though so you can fuel up!!

I agree. I also prefer the door in front because I would pull one sled in foreward the back two in so there was a lot more room in front for extra gas and gear when I was using my old 20' trailer. My current trailer is a 40' 5th wheel with a 20' LQ and 20' garage. The door into the garage is behind the axles and it sucks because I load 3 wheeler or 3 sleds the same way I did in my old trailer, two in back and one in front. Get the door in fornt on the pass side.
