I just got back from Togwotee and on thursday we were just riding down the trail and after we stopped and crossed the road my 07 M1000 started running poor and I looked down and the dispay was totally blank and so was my EGT. I could tell the sled was running in a limp mode because it ran poor but I could not get a code off of the display because it was blank and the speedo needle was stuck at about 30 mph. I rode it back to the lodge and looked for a bare wire and could not find any but there is a fuse on the CCU box beside the ECU and it was blown. I replaced it and it blew again. Does anyone have any ideas for me. I am going to try a new CCU and see what happens. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? Thanks.

I found a wire grounded on one of the heat shields today on my M8. It was worn through the insulation. Sled ran in 'limp mode' and there was no display on the guage. I wrapped some electrical tape around the wire and re-routed it and sled was back to normal.

I found a wire laying on my rear heat exchanger from my taillight. It was wore through and grounding out. Thanks for the help.

my hand gaurd bent down and was grounding out only on low so i ran on high or off the rest of the day.. same problems no gauge ok what ever 2 mins later sled would'nt run good @ all... must be lack of power so i turned alll
the accesories off and well sled and gauge worked fine slowly started turning stuff on and well as soon as i turned hand warmer on low lost gauge ... got home and that was the problem..
