Running with other than headlight?

I'm running with a single light from an automotive aftermarket brand that is a driving light, little round type, has a switch and little box that came with it. Do i need a resistor or something in the line to keep from over charging from the stator? The wires are hooked up to the power from the original lights. Thanks.

no you don't need a resistor unless you are going to run with the light off.

I'm not sure what you are asking why about? I dont have a light because the sled didnt come with one. I thought that i read somewhere that you need to have a resistor or something in the line so as not to overcharge and burn stator out or the regulator. I m not sure i dont remember. I just dont want to cause any problems with all the parts i just replaced.!!
