This is after this season with 650 miles. The tunnel itself is flawless. Looks like they did not do a proper surface prep on the boards themselves. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if Polaris took care of it with warranty.

That looks like crap. My boards are only showing aluminum on the corners of the cleats from wear and where I found a rock with the board.

Mines the exact same only worse.. Powder coat or go get the semi gloss spray paint called rust armour..I do take pride in keeping my sleds nice as they are seen by clients and have sponsor logos to display.. Keep me posted if you hear from dealer on it

Polaris told our dealer that they will not cover our boards as the wear we had was " normal wear area" Now mine were not as bad as yours but thought that it would last more than a riding season- I have 1200 mountain miles on my Axys- so I guess the PAINT cannot withstand board hoping and kicks to rid it of ice....
Some I have heard on here that, Polaris did cover.. but it was evident that their boards were peeling bad......
Sad but true.. at least for my group..... No Soap:face-icon-small-fro

Oh well I'll just keep them touched up with rust armor paint every chance I get. Honestly it don't bother me except that I try to keep sled as nice and up kept as I can so sponsors and clients think I actually care and take pride in what I do

It's a thing on quite a few 2016's...something wasn't right from the get go. Have seen a set warrantied. It's not just wear or because it's paint...my 2015 has the same boards and many miles and has nothing peeling. Difference between worn through and peeling/flecking off.

Never been a fan of Powder Coat or Paint for Aluminum

That is why I'm not a fan of paint, regardless of the prep prior to paint it will all eventually peel / flake. Plus it adds weight. I prefer Hard Teflon Anodizing for all my Aluminum parts. It converts the natural Aluminum Oxide to a hard durable surface that is nearly as hard as diamonds yet sheds snow, ice, and water all without any discernible weight gain.

Dealer replaced some black boards under warranty. Now Polaris is telling the dealer to paint them. Dealer said that is stupid so we are holding out. I just used black rubberized gravel guard for now and it looks pretty good and snow does not seem to stick.

We tried painting a set and it was a huge fail. Needs a body shop to do it professionally for any chance of success IMO

Seems to be only the black version for some reason.

Mine were very similar to the OP and my dealer did get them warrantied. They were replaced the end of Feb after being back ordered for two weeks.

I'm going to have to take it in and have them look at I guess. I have to take it in to get the rubbing coolant hose replaced anyways.

My right side running board peeled in a few places. It was replaced under warranty. It is interesting that it has been the ones that are black. I have not heard about the other colors having peeling problems. Mine had nothing to do with wear. It was flaking and it occurred in places where I rarely put my boot. My guess is that the paint specification for the black ones is not correct. I don't think that it is a preparation situation since it has occurred so randomly. I am just speculating but that is what I think happened.

Same issue here, and it was replaced by warranty.

Funny that they would replace a part with chipping paint but not a track that's falling apart?????? Makes no sense to me.
