Running an 06 900 ECU on an 05 900????

i remember it was said on here before, but cant remember what exactly was said..

heres the deal...

if one was to use an ECU from an 06 RMK 900 on an 05 RMK 900, would there be any issues...

of coarse the 05 has 2 injectors vs the 06's 4 injectros...so on the 06 ECU the top injector wires would not be used..

my main concerns are...

would the MFD throw a code?

would the 06 lower injector wiring run the same fuel rate throughout the RPM range that the 05 would?

or does someone just have an extra 05 900 ECU laying around for sale to make this ALOT easier on me, lol

Yes the '06 ecu will throw an injector code flash on MFD and flow rates different through rpm range. However, it will work good enough to start engine in shop and look for any other issues. Also try looking for '05 ecu from snowmobile salvage yards. Good luck!

I have a ecu, sounds like you need to figure out what all you need and pm me I have almost all of the 05 900 left

thanks for the fast replies guys..

had someone ask me, said they fried their 05 900 ECU and have access to an 06 900 ECU, and wondered if they could finish the season..

and being i have never seen that ask, i didnt want to give any wrong information..

better get me an extra ECU eventually as well

you know it man...i will have thse babies done in a few months..

the 06 will be my main project...got the VE tunnel yesterday, and going to get part of it powder coated.

keep an eye on my build threads in my sig...ill keep them updated.
